Spiritual Direction
A practice of holy listening, prayerful reflection, and spiritual companionship.
Whether you are seeking clarity, navigating change, deepening your prayer life, or simply longing for a place to reflect, spiritual direction offers compassionate accompaniment as you become more attentive to your spiritual life and relationship with God.

What Is Spiritual Direction?
Spiritual direction is a sacred conversation centered on your relationship with God, a space to bring your life, prayer, questions, transitions, grief, discernment, and whatever may be unfolding within you.
Rather than offering advice or easy answers, a spiritual director accompanies you with prayerful attention, thoughtful questions, and compassionate presence as together you listen for the movement of the Spirit.
"Whoever wants to stand alone without the support of a master and guide will be like the tree that stands alone in a field without a proprietor. No matter how much the tree bears, passers-by will pick the fruit before it ripens.”
— St. John of the Cross, Sayings, 5
Why Work With a Spiritual Director?
It can be difficult to recognize what is happening within us when we are carrying questions alone. A spiritual director offers a consistent, prayerful relationship where you can speak honestly, explore what may be stirring, and become more attentive to where God may be inviting you.
The spiritual director does not make decisions for you, but walks alongside you as you discern your own faithful response.
Life Transitions
Career changes, retirement, relationships, grief, parenthood, or new beginnings.
Why People Seek Spiritual Direction
People come to spiritual direction for many different reasons and in many different seasons of life. You don't need to have everything figured out to begin.
Discernment
Seeking clarity around decisions, vocation, purpose, or the next faithful step.
Deepening Your Faith
Creating space for prayer, reflection, and a more intentional relationship with God.
Spiritual Dryness
When prayer feels distant, life feels overwhelming, or you're searching for renewed hope.
What Happens In A Session?
Spiritual direction is a prayerful relationship centered on your experience of God.
Sessions typically last approximately 60 minutes and may include silence or prayer, conversation about what has been happening in your life, reflection on your prayer and spiritual experiences, noticing movements of consolation, resistance or longing, and questions that invite deeper discernment.
There is no agenda you need to prepare.
You simply bring your life as it is.
Together, we listen.
What Spiritual Direction Is and Is Not
Spiritual direction is focused on your spiritual life and your awareness of God’s presence. It is not therapy, counseling, life coaching, or religious instruction.
Therapy may focus on mental health, emotional healing, or specific psychological concerns. Coaching is generally centered on goals, strategies, and measurable progress. Spiritual direction creates space to listen, reflect, pray, and discern.
These practices can complement one another, but spiritual direction does not replace professional mental-health care when it is needed.
